iQOO has confirmed that the Neo12 will arrive by the end of October. The company has also revealed important details about its new display, making the phone one of the more interesting upcoming devices for mobile gamers.
The Neo12 is designed to combine a sharp screen, fast gaming performance, and long battery life. Its biggest attraction is a 2K display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz, supported by new display technology developed with Visionox and Tsinghua University.

A new approach to display technology
The Neo12 will be among the first phones to use a 2K 185Hz display based on pTSF technology. It will also introduce a new light-emitting material called Sky Mirror and a high-performance display driver designed for this combination of resolution and refresh rate.
The company says the screen can reach 2,200 nits of full-screen peak brightness. Other announced features include dynamic-range enhancement, glare protection for gaming, circular polarisation technology, and a low-brightness mode designed for use in dark rooms.
A high refresh rate makes supported animations and games look smoother. The 2K resolution also provides more detail than a lower-resolution panel. However, the actual benefit depends on the game, the graphics settings, and whether the software supports higher frame rates.
Powerful hardware for gaming
The reported hardware package includes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip, and an upgraded Monster performance engine. The phone is also expected to use an active cooling fan to help manage heat during demanding sessions.
iQOO has announced support for advanced gaming features, including ray tracing, image enhancement, and simultaneous resolution upscaling and frame generation. The company also says the device will support more than 50 games running at up to 185 frames per second. Game support and performance will vary.
The reported battery capacity is 9,000mAh. It is said to use a single-cell design with fifth-generation silicon-anode technology. If the final retail model retains this capacity, the Neo12 could be appealing to players who spend several hours gaming away from a charger.
What buyers should watch
iQOO has not yet announced the final Indian price or complete availability details. The launch will need to answer important questions about charging speed, software support, camera quality, cooling noise, and real-world battery life.

Passionategeekz Take
The Neo12 looks promising for people who want a fast gaming phone without moving to an extremely expensive specialist device. Its 2K 185Hz screen is the main attraction, but the final price and real-world performance will decide whether it is a genuine value-for-money flagship.
