Apple’s first foldable iPhone could become one of the biggest players in the foldable market during its first year. TrendForce estimates that around five million iPhone Duo units could ship in 2026.
That would give Apple about 24.8% of global foldable-phone shipments, according to the research firm’s forecast.

Why the forecast matters
TrendForce expects the full foldable-phone market to grow by only 0.5% in 2026. This means Apple’s entry could make a large difference in a market that is otherwise facing weak demand.
Early user feedback has praised the large inner display and multitasking experience. However, some apps still need better layouts, and users may need time to adjust to the new design.
The five-million figure is a market estimate. It is not a confirmed Apple sales number.
Passionategeekz Take
Apple’s entry gives foldable phones more attention, but the next stage is about useful software. A large screen only matters when apps make good use of it.
