[CNMO Technology News]Recently, a data organization released the car sales data of countries around the world in May. The data covers more than 30 countries and regions, among which China, the United States and India rank in the top three.

Specifically, China’s automobile market continued to perform strongly, with production and sales reaching 2.649 million and 2.686 million respectively in May, up 1.1% and 3.7% month-on-month, up 11.6% and 11.2% year-on-year; the total production and sales from January to May were 12.826 million and 12.748 million, up 12.7% and 10.9% year-on-year.

In mature markets, the sales of light vehicles in the United States in May were 1.469 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%. As consumers were worried that tariff policies would push up car prices, they bought cars in advance in March and April, causing the market to slow down in May. Japan’s new car sales in May were 324,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%, reaching 1.953 million units from January to May, an year-on-year increase of 11.3%. Germany’s passenger car registrations in May were 239,000, an increase of 1.4 year-on-year. The number of passenger car registrations in the UK in May was 150,000, an increase of 1.6% year-on-year, setting a new high since 2021. Canada’s car sales in May were 187,000, up 7.9% year-on-year. Italy’s sales in May were 139,000 units, a slight decrease of 0.2% year-on-year.

In terms of emerging markets,India’s new car sales in May were 350,000 units, a slight increase of 0.2% year-on-year. Maruti Suzuki, Tata and other brands declined, Mahenda and Hyundai achieved growth, while Toyota increased by 22.2%. Brazil’s new car registrations in May were 213,000, an increase of 16.4% year-on-year.
