How to book full train or coach, know step by step

How To Book Coach in Indian Train: Train tickets in India can be difficult to confirm, especially when you are traveling with a big group. It may seem difficult to book seats simultaneously, but Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) gives it a comfort. You can chart the entire train or coach. So, here we are telling you how to book the entire train or any coach through IRCTC’s full tariff rate (FTR) service.

How to book a full train or coach (IRCTC FTR)

1. First go to IRCTC website and login. If you do not have an account, register first.
2. After login, go to the ‘Tourism’ section and choose the ‘Book A Coach/Train’ option.
3. Now you have to fill a form in which the date, station, and other information will have to be given.
4. After filling the form, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
5. After this you will be taken to the payment page. Here you can pay according to your convenience.
6. After paying, you will get a confirmation mail which will give information about your booking.
7. On the day of travel, you have to reach the station on time and show information about your booking.

Understand FTR option

Booking window opens 6 months ago
Booking opens 6 months before and closes 30 days before departure. There are minimum 18 coaches for multi-coach/train (which should include 2 SLR/generator cars).

Security money has to be deposited
₹ 50,000 per coach has to be deposited as a secure deposit (RMSD). A maximum of 24 coaches can be booked.

Booking contract will have to be submitted
Online IRCTC FTR portal (https://www.ftr.irctc.co.in):
Register your account – Verify OTP – Select Service (Coach, Train, or Salon)
Travel details: departure/destination, date, train, number of coaches/types
Upload passenger list and pay the deposit amount

Booking can also be done through offline station office
Contact the Chief Reservation Officer or Station Manager at the station from where the train departs or a 10 -minute stop.

Fill the form, provide travel and identification details of all passengers and pay the deposit amount + rent. Suitable for weddings, corporate trips, pilgrimage etc.
