HMD has officially confirmed that its upcoming 5G smartphone, the HMD Vibe 5G, will debut in India on September 11, 2025. The company had earlier teased the device without revealing the launch date, but now the announcement has been made public.
The HMD Vibe 5G will be available in Purple and Black color options, offering users a stylish choice. The smartphone is expected to come with a 50MP AI rear camera placed in a square camera module housing dual sensors and an LED flash. What makes it stand out is the unique camera design with glyph-style illuminated lines around the module, giving it a modern appeal.
Currently, the device is listed on the official HMD India website. However, it remains unclear whether the phone will be sold through Flipkart or Amazon. More details about its online availability are expected closer to launch.
In a recent interview with Financial Express, Ravi Kumar, VP and CEO of HMD India, APAC, Australia and New Zealand, mentioned that the company will soon launch a sub-₹10,000 5G smartphone in the country. Since the HMD Vibe 5G is now confirmed, it is widely speculated that this will be the affordable 5G model he referred to.
With this launch, HMD is aiming to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive budget 5G smartphone market, competing with brands like Realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung. The pricing and complete specifications will be revealed on September 11.
