Google has officially confirmed the launch date for its next-generation flagship smartphones. The Google Pixel 11 series will be unveiled during the Made by Google event on August 12. Alongside confirming the smartphone lineup, Google has also given fans their first official look at a brand-new hardware feature called Pixel Glow, which is expected to deliver a fresh notification experience.
The announcement comes after weeks of leaks revealing the Pixel 11 series design, colours, pricing, and hardware specifications. Now, Google has started teasing some of the flagship features that will debut with its upcoming premium smartphones.
Pixel Glow Brings a New Notification Experience
The official teaser showcases the Pixel 11 Pro in a Gold finish and introduces Pixel Glow, a circular LED light integrated into the rear camera bar. Instead of relying only on the display for alerts, Pixel Glow is designed to notify users through colourful lighting effects.
When the phone is placed face down, the LED can illuminate in different colours for notifications, calls, and other alerts. Google has not yet revealed all customization options, but the feature appears to be a modern take on the classic notification LED found on older Android smartphones.
Gemini AI to Play a Bigger Role
Google is also expected to announce several new Gemini AI-powered experiences during the event. The company has already confirmed that its latest AI features will debut alongside the Pixel 11 series, offering smarter productivity, photography, and on-device AI capabilities.
These software improvements are expected to take advantage of Google’s next-generation Tensor chipset, delivering faster AI processing and improved overall performance.
Launch Date, Pre-Orders and Offers
The Made by Google event will begin on August 12 at 6:00 PM (US time), which translates to August 13 at 3:30 AM IST for viewers in India.
Google has confirmed that pre-orders for the Pixel 11 series will open immediately after the launch event. In the United States, customers who sign up for Google Store marketing emails before August 7 will receive promotional discount codes.
Indian buyers are expected to receive bundle offers instead of discount coupons. Google is likely to include promotional deals on Pixel Buds or Pixel Watch with eligible Pixel 11 purchases.
Expected Google Pixel 11 Specifications
Although Google has not officially revealed the complete specifications, previous leaks suggest the Pixel 11 lineup will be powered by the new 2nm Google Tensor G6 processor. The chipset is expected to bring noticeable improvements in performance, battery efficiency, camera processing, and Gemini AI features.
The Pixel 11 series is also expected to compete directly with flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung in the premium segment.
