In terms of overall retail volume, China’s passenger cars reached 6.608 million from January to April, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year. By grade (standard + pre-embedded), L2 models still rank first with a sales share of 41.3%, but it fell by 0.6 percentage points from the same period last year. The sales share of L2.9 models grew the fastest, with an increase of 3.4 percentage points. Models such as Xiaomi SU7, Xiaopeng P7+, and Zhijie R7 have become important driving forces.

Different intelligent driving levels show unique development paths. The L1 level relies on the 1R or 1V solution, and the 1V model has a significant growth rate under the pull of Audi A6L and other Audi. Among the mainstream L2-level cars, the 1V1R and 1V3R solutions account for 66.2%, of which the representative model is the Honda Accord. The L2+ level is mainstream with 1V5R, and Lynk & Co Z20 and others have become the driving force. Solutions such as L2.5-level 8V5R improve environmental perception and are widely used in brand models such as BYD. In the L2.9 level, the proportion of models with lidar has increased, among which 7V3R1L is the mainstream configuration, not only taking root in the range of 250,000 to 300,000 yuan, but also expanding to models below 150,000 yuan. Zhijie R7 is the representative model.

It is worth mentioning that the installation volume of lidars has also continued to rise, reaching 485,000 from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 50.7%. Among them, independent brands became the main force, with installation volume of 286,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 54.0%, and the help of Wenjie M9, Zhijie R7 and others was significantly assisted.
