Passionategeekz June 19th news, Fujitsu announced yesterday that it has obtained the next-generation flagship supercomputer design contract from the Japan Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology (RIKEN, RIKEN). The name of this future supercomputer is tentatively designated as “FugakuNEXT” (FugakuNEXT).

Passionategeekz noticed that Riyan’s flagship supercomputing systems including “Kyoto” and “Fugao” were previously created by Fujitsu. Fujitsu’s contractSystem, compute node and CPU component design covering “FugakuNEXT”the basic design phase is scheduled to end on February 27, 2026.
