Passionategeekz On June 18, a plane crash occurred near Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat, India on the 12th local time. Currently, the number of victims in the crash has risen to 279, with only one passenger surviving. The victims included 241 on board and 38 ground personnel.

According to CCTV News, on the evening of the 17th local time, the Civil Aviation Administration of India issued an announcement to review the operation of Air India and Air India Express. The announcement stated that no major safety issues were found during the recent inspection of Air India’s Boeing 787 fleet. The aircraft and related maintenance systems meet current safety standards.

In the announcement, the Civil Aviation Administration of India expressed concerns about the maintenance of the recent report of Air India. It is recommended that the airline strengthen internal coordination between the engineering, operation and ground handling departments to ensure sufficient spare parts are available to reduce passenger delays caused by such problems and strictly comply with relevant regulations. It is recommended to implement a more systematic and real-time defect reporting mechanism to ensure that operational departments and safety-critical departments receive update information in a timely manner, enhance overall decision-making capabilities, and reduce subsequent interference.

After the accident, Air India’s parent company Tata Group announced that it would provide 10 million rupees (Passionategeekz Note: the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 837,000) compensation to each victim’s family. In addition, Air India also said it would provide compensation of 25 lakh (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 209,000) to each victim’s family.
