Opera has unveiled its cutting-edge AI browser, Opera Neon, introducing a trio of intelligent features designed to transform how users interact with the web. Currently in invitation-only access, Neon combines automation, AI-driven web navigation, and creative tools to provide a smarter and more proactive browsing experience.
The browser introduces three central features—Chat, Do, and Make—each tailored to assist users in unique ways:
- Chat operates similarly to popular AI chatbots, providing answers, web search assistance, translation, and content generation. It functions like an advanced assistant for research and everyday queries.
- Do is the standout feature, enabling the browser to take proactive actions. Much like OpenAI’s Operator, Opera Neon can browse the internet on behalf of the user, input information into forms, and complete tasks such as buying tickets, filling in data, or shopping online.
- Make taps into user creativity by allowing them to generate content, including web applications, games, or code visualizations. For example, a user could ask Neon to build a retro-style game or prototype a web app idea directly from a prompt.

Opera Neon is currently part of a subscription-based model, though specific pricing details have not yet been disclosed. Interested users can join the waitlist to gain early access.
The browser emerges at a time when AI-driven browsers are gaining traction. Competitors like Perplexity are preparing to launch their Comet browser, and The Browser Company is developing the AI-powered Dia browser. Meanwhile, Google is rolling out Gemini’s Agent Mode within Chrome, though it remains exclusive to U.S.-based Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Opera Neon represents a significant shift toward integrating AI as a core utility in web browsing, giving users not just tools for information but agents to act on their behalf.
