The results of this verification test prove that the insulation, temperature rise and other indicators of the full-size AC current collecting system device of this 300 megawatt variable speed pumping and storage generator motor meet technical requirements and can be directly guided and applied to real-time products of variable speed pumping and storage generator sets.
At present, under the guidance of the “dual carbon” goal, my country is accelerating the construction of a new power system with new energy as the main body. With its significant advantages such as flexible adjustment, stable operation and fast response, variable speed pumping storage units have become a key equipment to support the consumption of new energy and ensure the safety and stability of the power grid. However, its core component, high voltage, high current AC collecting system technology, has been monopolized abroad.
In order to overcome this “bottleneck” problem, Dongfang Motor and Chongqing Huaneng Hydropower Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. focused on the rotor AC current collection system of a 300-megawatt large-scale variable speed generator motor. It carried out systematic research and development to address the technical problems of current supply, insulation and heat dissipation under high voltage and high current conditions, and successfully built a complete rotor-side feed AC current collection system technical system, breaking foreign technical barriers.
This major technological breakthrough will effectively promote the large-scale application of domestic variable-speed pumping storage units, enhance my country’s international competitiveness in the field of high-end energy equipment, and provide solid scientific and technological and equipment guarantees for achieving the “dual carbon” goal.
