Apple has reported strong financial results for its fourth quarter of 2026. The company posted $114.5 billion in revenue for the quarter ended September 26, up 12% from the same period last year.

The iPhone business was one of the biggest reasons behind this growth. However, Apple also warned that rising memory costs and supply limits could create challenges in the coming months.

iPhone revenue reaches a new record

Apple’s total revenue reached $114.5 billion, while earnings per share rose 14% to $2.10. The company also reported a new September-quarter record for iPhone revenue.

  • Total revenue: $114.5 billion
  • Year-over-year revenue growth: 12%
  • iPhone revenue: $57.6 billion
  • iPhone revenue growth: 17%
  • Mac revenue: $10.8 billion
  • Services revenue: $31.6 billion

Mac revenue also increased from $8.7 billion in the same quarter last year. Services reached another record, showing that Apple’s business is growing beyond hardware sales.

The strong iPhone result comes as Apple sells the iPhone 18 Pro models and its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. Demand for the new devices has also put pressure on available supply.

Memory costs are becoming a problem

Apple CEO John Ternus described the current memory situation as unprecedented. The company expects memory costs to rise further during the December quarter.

Apple also said that Mac and iPad availability was affected by supply limits and higher-than-expected demand. Some of these limits are linked to the advanced chips used inside its devices.

This is important because memory is used in almost every modern electronic product. Phones, tablets, laptops and AI devices all need memory to store data and run applications.

When memory becomes more expensive, device makers have to decide whether to accept lower profits, change their product plans or increase prices. Smaller brands may find this even harder because they have less room to absorb higher costs.

Apple has not announced another price increase in this earnings update. Buyers should not assume that every future product will become more expensive, but supply and component costs are worth watching.

What this means for buyers

People planning to buy a Mac or iPad should check stock and delivery estimates before placing an order. The company expects supply pressure to continue into the next quarter.

For smartphone buyers, the results also show how important memory costs have become across the industry. A strong launch does not always mean that every model will be easy to find in stores.

Apple has delivered another strong quarter, with the iPhone leading the way. But the memory situation is a warning for the entire technology market. The next few months will show whether higher component costs affect device prices, supply or both.
