Fans of the hit soccer anime Aoashi have reason to celebrate: the second season has officially been announced and is slated to air in 2026. The new season will once again bring to life the journey of aspiring footballer Aoi Ashito, under the banner of acclaimed studio TMS Entertainment, best known for classics like Lupin the Third.

A visual teaser featuring Ashito has been released to mark the announcement, hinting at more emotional and high-stakes football drama to come. The anime adaptation is based on the manga by Yugo Kobayashi, which has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2015. The series captures the coming-of-age story of Ashito, a gifted young player who earns a spot on a prestigious J-League youth team and strives to grow into a professional.
Since its debut, Aoashi has gained widespread acclaim for its realistic depiction of youth football, emotional storytelling, and technical insight into the game. With over 23 million copies in circulation and 38 volumes already released (with Volume 39 launching on April 30), the manga’s continued popularity makes this second season announcement highly anticipated.
