Xiaomi has officially teased its upcoming Xiaomi 17 Pro, confirming that the device will debut with a large rear display called the Magic Back Screen. This marks a major leap from the small 1.1-inch panel seen on the Mi 11 Ultra back in 2021.
Xiaomi’s smartphone head Lu Weibing highlighted that the Xiaomi 17 series is a generational upgrade, aiming to bring something truly “new” to the smartphone industry. The teaser image reveals a triple-camera setup with Leica branding, including dual cameras placed within a large deco, a third sensor below, and an LED flash alongside.
The company has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 lineup — including the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max — will be the first to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun further emphasized that the series represents a cross-generational leap in product strength, directly competing with the iPhone lineup.
With its expanded rear display, Leica-powered triple cameras, and next-gen chipset, the Xiaomi 17 Pro is shaping up to be one of the brand’s boldest flagships to date. More details are expected in the coming days as Xiaomi prepares to officially unveil the series later this month.
