After receiving mixed feedback for the iQOO 13, iQOO is preparing for a comeback with the iQOO 14, scheduled for a Q4 2025 release. While upgrades are expected, early sentiments suggest tempered expectations among tech enthusiasts due to the previous generation’s underwhelming performance.

The iQOO 13 faced significant criticism due to several hardware and software-related shortcomings. One of the most notable complaints was the questionable design choice of leaving a visible gap between the screen and the frame. Despite iQOO’s claim that the gap was part of the design—even on a device boasting IP68 and IP69 ratings—users felt this compromised durability and aesthetics. The issue sparked heated discussions across forums and social media platforms.
Performance was another concern. Despite packing top-tier specifications, the iQOO 13 was plagued by overheating during prolonged usage, especially gaming. This resulted in performance throttling that left users frustrated. Additionally, the camera experience, particularly in low-light conditions, was a step back compared to the iQOO 12, with the omission of a periscope lens being a major letdown.
Software-wise, the Funtouch OS didn’t win fans either. Users criticized the cluttered UI and excessive bloatware, diminishing what should have been a flagship-grade experience.
Looking ahead, the iQOO 14 is expected to address these concerns with:
Improved design and build quality to eliminate structural flaws. Better camera hardware, potentially bringing back the periscope lens. Refined thermal management for stable performance in demanding tasks. Streamlined software experience, reducing bloat and enhancing fluidity.
Though expectations are cautiously optimistic, iQOO fans are hoping for a true flagship that can compete with other Q4 releases from brands like Samsung and Xiaomi.
