Passionategeekz June 22nd news, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) made it clear when launching “Cyberpunk 2077” update 2.2 that this will be the final update of the game, and the company will devote all its efforts to the development of the sequel to “Cyberpunk 2077” “Orion Project”. However, just a few months later, “Cyberpunk 2077” update 2.3 came unexpectedly. This update did not release an official patch description. Only one developer released an emoticon with the words “I can fight again”, which made players doubt whether the update of “Cyberpunk 2077” really ended.

Judging from the past update history of “Cyberpunk 2077”, it is indeed difficult to believe that the support of the game has been completely over. Before the Orion Project is officially launched, more updates may appear. Although there is almost zero specific information about update 2.3, in April, a senior Virtuos writer briefly mentioned that he was working on a “upcoming DLC” for Cyberpunk 2077. Although the news was quickly deleted, players’ speculation did not stop.

Judging from the wording, the DLC may not be a large expansion like Shadow of the Past. It mentions the analysis of existing voice lines in the game, which seems to imply that this may be a new task or scene using existing conversations. Some speculate that characters like Kerry Eurodean or River Ward may receive additional endings or endings with a plot that follows the credits, and these contents may also appear in update 2.3 or even in future updates.

Passionategeekz noticed that the lack of patch notes in Update 2.3, which is in sharp contrast to the situation where most previous updates included detailed documents and also made players even more confused. This small, narrative-focused content is consistent with CDPR’s current direction, which is to extend the life cycle of the game in this way without investing a lot of resources, as these resources now need to be used for the development of Project Orion and The Witcher 4.
