Passionategeekz On June 21, the source Kepler_L2 was exposed on the NeoGAF forum yesterday (June 20), sayingBoth Sony PlayStation 6 and next-generation Xbox gaming consoles will feature AMD’s new UDNA GPU architecture.
Compared with the RDNA4 architecture released by AMD at the beginning of this year, the UDNA architecture has increased its traditional rendering performance by 20%, and the ray tracing and AI performance has doubled, which means that the game screen will be clearer, the light and shadow effects will be smoother, and the AI functions will be smarter.
However, 3D cache is not included in the UDNA architecture SoC, which may surprise some players who are looking forward to AMD’s latest technology.
Kepler_L2 also pointed out that this performance improvement does not rely on deep customization from Sony or Microsoft, but almost entirely relies on AMD’s core technology.
He said: “Sony and Microsoft have exaggerated their customization level. In most cases, they just re-added the features that AMD removed from recent architectures to achieve backward compatibility, or deleted features that they did not use. In terms of CPU or GPU performance, 99% of the credit belongs to AMD.” Passionategeekz attached the exposures compiled by Reddit netizens are as follows:
