OPPO is preparing a new camera feature for its upcoming Reno17 series. The company has previewed full-focal-length 4K Live Photos that can capture six seconds of motion.

The new feature doubles the recording time of the previous three-second Live Photo format. It is designed to give users more time to capture a smile, a quick movement or another moment that may be missed in a normal photo.

What is new in the camera?

Live Photos combine a still image with a short motion clip. Instead of saving only one frame, the phone keeps a small part of the action around the moment the photo is taken.

OPPO says the Reno17 series will support a six-second version with 4K quality across all focal lengths. This is important because some camera features are limited to the main camera or a single zoom level.

Full-focal-length support could give users more freedom when switching between different camera views. The longer capture time may also help when taking pictures of children, pets, sports or moving subjects.

For creators, the feature could make it easier to turn everyday moments into short social clips. A user can capture a moving scene and still keep a photo-style result for sharing.

Reno17 launch and expected specifications

OPPO has opened reservations for the Reno17 series in China. The company has confirmed a November launch window, but it has not shared an exact event date or final prices.

Some specifications of the Reno17 Pro have appeared in leaks. These reports suggest a compact 6.32-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super processor and a 50MP front camera.

The leaked rear camera setup includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. A battery close to 7,000mAh has also been mentioned.

These details are not confirmed by OPPO. The final camera sensors, battery capacity, charging speed and processor must be checked at the official launch.

There is also no confirmed India launch date or Indian price yet. Buyers should wait for a local announcement before planning a purchase.
