Google is making Chrome much more useful on Android in India by bringing Gemini directly into the browser. The new experience can understand the webpage you are viewing, answer questions, summarize long content and help complete everyday tasks without constantly switching between apps.

Gemini in Chrome is now available to Android users in India. You can use it to quickly understand long articles, ask questions about information on a webpage and work with Google apps such as Keep and Calendar.
Google has also brought Nano Banana image tools into the experience, allowing users to modify or create images using prompts while browsing.
Chrome Can Now Act on Your Behalf
The bigger update is Auto Browse. Available to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers on desktop and Android in India, the feature allows Gemini to perform multi-step tasks across websites.
For example, Gemini can help book parking for an event, complete a lengthy online form or order groceries. Instead of simply telling you how to complete the task, the AI can navigate websites and carry out much of the work itself.
Google says Gemini shows users a plan before starting an Auto Browse task. It also identifies the websites it plans to use and explains what personal information may be shared. The task only starts after the user approves it.
Users can take control at any point, while Gemini asks for confirmation before certain sensitive actions. Google also says users remain responsible for actions taken by the agent, including unintended purchases.
Built for India’s Multilingual Users
Google says Gemini in Chrome supports several Indian languages, making the browser assistant more useful for a wider audience. Auto Browse itself is currently more limited by language and account eligibility.
The Android rollout follows the earlier desktop availability of Gemini in Chrome in India.
Passionategeekz Take
Google is moving Chrome beyond being a place where you simply read and search. With Gemini inside the browser and Auto Browse handling multi-step tasks, Chrome is becoming an AI workspace that can understand what you are doing and help complete it.
The interesting part is what comes next. If Google can make these agents reliable enough for everyday tasks, the browser could become one of the main places where people interact with AI instead of opening a separate chatbot.
