WhatsApp is rolling out a brand-new feature that will simplify profile picture updates across Meta platforms. Soon, users will be able to directly import their profile photo from Instagram and Facebook with a single click, thanks to deeper integration via the Meta Accounts Center.
Highlights:
- WhatsApp will now allow syncing profile pictures from Instagram and Facebook.
- The feature is part of WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.21.23.
- Feature currently available to limited beta testers, full rollout expected soon.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the feature is currently being tested in WhatsApp Beta for Android. When you tap on the EDIT option to change your WhatsApp profile photo, you will now see new choices to import your photo directly from your linked Meta accounts ā Instagram and Facebook. Until now, users could only upload a photo from their gallery, take a new photo, create an avatar, or use an AI-generated image.
How to Enable the Profile Picture Sync:
To use this feature, users must link their WhatsApp account to the Meta Accounts Center, which can be done via Facebook or Instagram settings. Meta had enabled WhatsApp integration with the Accounts Center earlier this year to bring seamless features across its apps.
Meta has already launched several tools that enable deeper cross-platform support, such as sharing Instagram status directly on WhatsApp or adding a WhatsApp button to Instagram business profiles for easier customer contact.
This new sync option makes profile management easier across all platforms under Metaās umbrella and is likely to benefit users who frequently update their profiles. Stay connected with PassionateGeekz for all the latest feature rollouts and tech tips.
