The smartphone 2025 is no longer about speed, battery life or the strength of the camera; Now it is about their feel. And weight is once again becoming an important specification. As the phone’s screen is getting bigger and the battery is getting more than 5000mAh, some manufacturers are combating this growing weight with smart design, light material and better engineering. There are seven lightest smartphones launched in 2025, which fall in flagship, midrange, foldable and even budget segment and prove that you do not need to feel heaviness to get high-end functions.

Samsung Galaxy S25 (162G): Samsung has started the year with a bang with Galaxy S25. With just 162 grams weight, it is one of the lightest premium smartphones of recent times, without any deficiency. It runs on 3Nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, which is created with Qualcomm, and has a triple-camera system with 4000mAh battery and 50MP main sensor. The weight of a flagship phone made of glass and metal is rare than 170 grams, but Samsung has succeeded in losing weight from last year’s S24 (~ 167G). 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, IP68 ratings, and gorilla glass Victus 2 Finnish does not make it ordinary in any way. Galaxy S25 reminds that premium does not mean heavy.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (163G): If S25 is compact aligns, S25 Edge is its futuristic twin, thin, tall and impressively thin. With just 5.8mm thickness and 163 grams weight, this 6.7-inch phone is also lighter than many small devices. Samsung has given the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12GB RAM in it, but has removed the telephoto lens and reduced the battery slightly to 3900mAh so that it can maintain a thin profile.

It is less about having the most powerful device on paper and more on preference to design. Samsung calls it the lightest “phablet-class” flagship of 2025 and it proves to be correct on holding in hand: light, strong and stunning ergonomic for its shape.

Tecno Spark Slim (166G): Tecno surprised the world of technology with Spark Slim in MWC 2025. This phone is just 5.75mm thin and weighs 166 grams, which makes it the thinnest phone ever. Nevertheless, it has a 5200mAh battery. Yes really. This phone is a proof-off-concept, not for everyday use, its specifications are simple and availability is limited. But it shows that thin and light phone is also possible in the budget segment. Whether Spark Slim comes in the market on a large scale, it sets a new standard.

Google Pixel 9A (186 g): Google’s Pixel 9A is the correct balance of size, weight and simplicity. With 185.9 grams weight, it is the lightest phone in the 2025 lineup of Google, even lighter than the flagship Pixel 9. It has a 6.3-inch OLED screen, latest Tensor G4 Chip and a large battery of 5100mAh. The design is clean and practical, which has a plastic-aluminum frame that keeps the weight low but does not feel cheap. This includes wireless charging, IP67 water resistance and dual-camera setup (48MP main + 13MP ultravide). While it is not light at all, for a midrange 5G phone that has real stamina, pixel 9A feels freshly fresh in hand.

Xiaomi 15 (189–191 gram): At first sight, Xiaomi’s new flagship phone may look like a common premium phone. But with less than 191 grams weighing and 5240mAh battery, Xiaomi 15 is nothing ordinary. It does a rare act of long running and mixing lightness into a compact body. It has a 6.36-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip and Leica-tuned triple 50MP camera system. With 90W wired charging and 8.1mm thin profiles, Xiaomi has explained how to show maximum utility without more filled. In a market where most of the flagship phones weigh more than 210 grams with 5000mAh+ battery, Xiaomi 15 is a great example of 15 form and balance of function.

Vivo V50 (189 grams): Vivo has quietly created a good reputation in making midrange phones and V50 continues this connection. With a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and 5000mAh battery, it should feel heavy, but it is not so. With 189 grams weight, the Satin Black version of V50 feel unexpectedly light, especially compared to those phones that weigh more than 200 grams. It is powered by Snapdragon 7 GEN 3 chip, which has up to 12GB RAM, supports 90W fast charging and includes dual 50MP cameras. Its 7.4mm thin body makes it easy to hold and keep it in pocket, while polish design keeps it stylish. Vivo did not compromise on screen size or battery life, but has engineered it in a smart way.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 (199G): Foldable phones are often heavy, but 2025 razr Ultra of Motorola changes this notion. It has a 7-inch inner screen, 4-inch outer display and a large battery of 4700mAh, yet its weight is only 199 grams. It is really unique in the foldable phone world. Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor and 16GB RAM make it a powerhouse, but its titanium is hinz and skilled component layouts are real heroes. For comparison, the Z Flip 6 (2024) of Samsung is about 188 grams, in which the battery is quite small. Motorola has added a few extra grams to the whole day’s battery life, which is a good deal.
