To use Aadhaar related services online, it is necessary to link your mobile number to Aadhaar. This is because the OTP (One-Time Password) is sent to the registered number for identification verification during online transactions. If your mobile number linked to Aadhaar is no longer in use or you want to change it, then you can easily update it through the correct process. Keeping your mobile number updated ensures smooth use of many digital Aadhaar services.

You cannot change the mobile number link to your Aadhaar card directly online, because biometric verification is necessary. To update the number, you have to go to the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center or schedule appointment through the official UIDAI portal.

Step 1: Go to the official UIDAI website and choose your favorite language so that navigation can be easier.
Step 2: “My Aadhaar” > “Get Aadhaar” > “Book an Appointment” पर जाएं.
Step 3: Type your city or location and click on ‘Proceed to Book Appointment’.
Step 4: Enter your current mobile number and the Captcha code shown, then click on “Generate OTP”.
Step 5: After receiving OTP, put it and choose “verify otp”.
Step 6: Fill the following information according to your base:
Aadhaar number
Full name (as per base)
Date of birth
Application Type
State
City
Preferred base service center
Step 7: Choose the data field you want to change – choose “Update Mobile Number” in this case.
Step 8: Click “Next” to choose a convenient date and time for your appointment.
Step 9: Carefully check the information recorded and click on “Submit” to confirm your appointment.
Step 10: Go to the selected Aadhaar Seva Kendra on your chosen date and time and wait for your turn.
Step 11: At the center, officials will conduct biometric verification and update your mobile number to the Aadhaar system.
Step 12: For the update process, you have to pay a service fee of ₹ 50. A receipt will be issued, which will have a URN (update request number). By using this URN, you can track the status of your mobile number update online.
