Samsung to Only Launch Snapdragon Variant of S22 Series? Here’s What We Know so Far

Samsung generally used to launch two processor variants of it’s Flagship smartphone series- one was the Snapdragon variant which was launched in US Regions, and another was the Exynos variant which was launched in regions like Europe and Asia.

So far, the Snapdragon counterparts have turned out to be more powerful than the Exynos variants, and now, a recent report claims that Samsung will launch the S22 Series only with Snapdragon 8Gen1. The previous generation Galaxy S21 Series was launched with Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 in various regions. This year too, a new Exynos 2200 variant of the smartphone was expected.

No Exynos 2200? But Why?

According to tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the plans of launching the S22 Series with an Exynos 2200 processor have been canceled by Samsung. Although the reason has not been specified, the chip shortage could be one of the major reasons. That being said, People from Asian and European markets had been demanding Snapdragon variants for many years. If the reports turn out to be true, it would be good news for Samsung fans.

Even if Samsung doesn’t use Exynos 2200 on the upcoming S22 Series, we can still expect the processor to be announced shortly and it may be used in other Samsung smartphones. Samsung might even allow other brands to use Exynos 2200 in their smartphones, like Vivo has used Samsung Exynos Chipsets in Vivo X60 Series Chinese variants.

Galaxy S22 Series Expected Specifications

Like the previous year, this year’s Galaxy S22 Series will have three models- Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. S22 and S22+ will pack the same camera setup, the difference will lie only in the screen size, build, and battery. The S22 Ultra will be Samsung’s 2022 high-end flagship boasting specifications like QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display, S Pen support, and 108MP Quad Cameras.

We will get to know more about the S22 Series in the coming days.
