In a telling reflection of consumer preferences, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has decisively outpaced its Galaxy S25 and S25+ siblings in sales—despite being the most expensive model in the lineup. According to South Korea’s Hana Securities, Samsung has sold over 5.08 million units of the Galaxy S25 Ultra since its launch earlier this year, significantly surpassing the combined 4.08 million units of the base S25 and S25+ models.
With a starting price of ₹1,29,999 ($1,299 in the U.S.), the Galaxy S25 Ultra demonstrates that users are increasingly prioritizing performance, camera capabilities, and display quality over affordability. This is a shift from previous trends where base and mid-tier models typically led volume sales.
The S25 Ultra is packed with cutting-edge features: a 6.9-inch AMOLED 2X display, a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a quad-camera system headlined by a 200MP main sensor. Combined with 12GB RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and the latest Android 15-based One UI 7, the phone represents Samsung’s most powerful offering yet.
Samsung’s total smartphone sales for March 2025 reached 20.29 million units, with the Galaxy S25 series accounting for nearly half that figure. This underscores the Ultra’s strong contribution and hints at a broader industry trend—premium devices are no longer niche, but mainstream.
