Nothing Phone (3) has entered the market earlier this month. As the company’s first ‘true flagship’ phone, Nothing has introduced a new dot matrix design by removing its Glyph Interface. Also, he has surprised everyone by bringing a phone at a big price like ₹ 79,999. With this price, the phone (3) has come directly into the premium flagship category, where it competes with phones like iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S25. However, the phone has also faced some criticisms. Especially because it has used mid-range chipset.
Despite many reactions, Nothing Phone (3) is now officially available for sale in India. Flipkart, flipkart minutes from 12 noon today, Vijay sales, Chroma And other major retail stores can be purchased. Its base variant is available at a price of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage at a price of ₹ 79,999. At the same time, high-end model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will be available for ₹ 89,999. What is special in Nothing Phone (3)?
The biggest feature of Phone (3) is its transparent back design, which has a new Glyph Matrix Secondary display and Asmatical Camera System. This Glyph Matrix consists of a cluster of LED lights, which shows notifications (such as messages and games) as Glyph Toys. The brand believes that it is a natural evolution of Glyph LED lights present in previous models. However, it is too early to say that this new display feature will actually be of users’ or it is just like a gimmic (appearance), it will answer it.
The phone has a powerful mid-range chipset Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. If compared to Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC used in Phone (2), the new processor claims 36% faster CPU performance, 88% faster GPU speed and 60% better AI processing. Although these figures show a big upgrade, this chipset is still not a flagship level processor. You can also see the same chipset in devices priced less than ₹ 35,000, such as Poco F7 and IQO NEO 10.
Nothing has also upgraded the camera system of Phone (3). It has three 50mp sensors at the back and a 50mp selfie camera at the front. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor which OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), 50MP OIS periscope camera, 3x optical zoom, 6X Losles zoom and AI super resolution zoom up to 60X and include a 50MP ultra-wide camera. At the same time, the Phone (3) has a 50MP front camera for selfie, which is a larger upgrade compared to the 32MP sensor in the phone (2).
This flagship smartphone of Nothing comes with a 5,500mAh battery, which supports 65W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse charging. These figures can be considered very good for a day -long comfortable battery performance and wireless charging is a major feature of this device. Nothing claims that the phone (3) can give a battery life of up to two days once charged.
The front of the phone has a 6.67-inch flexible AMOLED screen, which comes with a refresh rate up to 120Hz, peak brightness of 4500 nits, and HDR10+ support. This device works on Android 15 based Nothing OS 3.5. The company promises that Phone (3) will continue to get Major OS updates for 5 years and security updates for 7 years. As far as the software update is concerned, the company has confirmed that the Nothing OS 4.0 update based on Android 16 will be rolled out for Phone (3) in Q3 2025 (between July to September).
Nothing has made a special identity in the smartphone market through its unique design and clean, customizable UI. However, the higher price of Phone (3) can become a challenge in the price-sensitive market like India. At a price of ₹ 79,999, the phone (3) is clearly targeting users who give more priority to the performance (performance), along with the excellent and different looking design, as well as performing clean Android experience.
There are many strong contestants in this segment, but Nothing is still succeeding in giving the same original experience. Especially in terms of software, its previous phones were made so popular among users.
