Passionategeekz On June 15th, a plane crash occurred near Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat, India on the 12th local time. Currently, the number of victims in the crash has risen to 279, with only one passenger surviving. The victims included 241 on board and 38 ground personnel.

Today, the Indian government held a press conference on the air crash for the first time. According to CCTV, the Indian government has set up two independent investigation committees to investigate technical issues and other possible factors respectively.The crash investigation report will be released within 3 months

Regarding the identity of the victim, India said that DNA sampling is currently being conducted to confirm the identity of the victim. As of 9 p.m. local time on the 14th, 19 victims have confirmed their identities through DNA, but a large number of families of victims are still waiting anxiously, hoping to find the bodies of their relatives as soon as possible.

Indian officials said most of the remains of the victims in the accident have been burnt and are difficult to identify by their appearance. They are confirming the identity of the victims through DNA sampling.

After the accident, Air India’s parent company Tata Group announced that it would provide 10 million rupees (Passionategeekz Note: the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 837,000) compensation to each victim’s family.

In addition, Air India also said it would provide compensation of 25 lakh (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 209,000) to each victim’s family.

The Indian civil aviation department said on the 14th that they are urgently inspecting all Boeing 787 passenger planes in the country. Air India said on the same day that 9 aircraft have completed inspections, and the relevant inspections may lead to delays in some long-haul flights. Sources said the Indian government is considering grounding the Boeing 787 passenger plane.

On the afternoon of the 12th local time, an Indian Airlines Boeing 787-8 passenger plane flying from India to the UK crashed shortly after taking off at Ahmedabad Airport. The scene showed that the passenger plane quickly descended shortly after taking off, hit a building and exploded and caught fire, and the wreckage of the plane was scattered everywhere. This is the first time that a deadly air crash occurred on the Boeing 787 model, and many countries have sent teams to assist in the investigation.
