Samsung is gearing up for its summer Unpacked event, and the next-generation Galaxy Watch lineup is generating serious buzz. For the first time, a CAD render based on leaked specifications of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has surfaced — and it looks like Samsung is blending old favorites with bold new design choices.
In a surprising twist, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic appears to merge two distinct design languages — the robust build of the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the sophisticated flair of the Classic series. Most notably, Samsung seems to be reviving the iconic physical rotating bezel, a fan-favorite feature absent from the more recent models.
This new iteration sports a squircle body, similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but with a more polished and slightly thinner profile. Sitting atop the device is a perfectly circular rotating bezel, enhanced with anti-slip ridges for improved grip and precision. This tactile interface contrasts with the non-interactive circular frame seen on the Galaxy Watch Ultra, making the 8 Classic a standout.

Another notable detail is the three-button layout that mimics the Ultra variant, including a crown-style button nestled between two side keys. While the CAD render isn’t official, it aligns with previously leaked dimensions and design cues.
Samsung has a long-standing tradition of refreshing its smartwatch lineup annually, not just in terms of tech but also aesthetics. Smartwatches, after all, are wearable fashion accessories, and Samsung appears fully aware of that. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is a clear testament to that philosophy — a device that dares to evolve while honoring the past.
However, bold designs come with risks. Some purists may be put off by the squircle form factor, even if they welcome the return of the rotating bezel. The device, as rendered, breaks away from the more traditional circular design of previous Galaxy Watch Classics.
Still, if the render reflects the final product, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic could represent the perfect middle ground — a harmonious blend of familiarity and innovation. It’s a bold move by Samsung that might just pay off, especially with fans craving both function and fashion.
We’ll find out for sure when Samsung unveils the full lineup at this summer’s Unpacked event. Until then, the anticipation continues.
