Tecno has introduced its first tri-fold concept foldable phone, named Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept. This device has a dual inward folding mechanism, so that users can open two panels and easily use a tablet size display. This concept is the next version of Phantom Ultimate 2 Tri-Fold Concept, which was shocked by the brand last year.
9to5Google According to the report, Tecno shared this information through a press release, which was released just before the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held in July 2025. The company has announced that Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept will be officially introduced in mid -July. For those who do not know, let us tell you that the ‘Phantom’ series is the lineup of the high-end and flagship smartphone, which includes devices like Phantom X2, Phantom V Flip2, and Phantom V Fold2. Of these, Phantom V Fold2 is currently the latest foldable phone of the brand, which is available for sale.
Separate from Huawei Mate XT, which is a popular and commercially available tri-folded phone in China, Tecno Phantom G Fold Concept will be folded inwards to protect its flaxable display from damage. The folding mechanism of the mate XT is outwards and uses the same display for many form factors such as single screen, dual-screen, and triple-screen mode. At the same time, Phantom G Fold has a dedicated cover screen, like a traditional foldable phone. By opening the flexible display inside, it can be converted into a tablet size view, which gives users a large and expanded view.
Just before the official announcement, Test Ice Universe shared several photos of the design of the Tecno Phantom G Fold Concept. Tipstter has also told that this foldable phone will be only a concept device at the moment and the company has no plan to bring it into mass production. On analyzing the photos, it suggests that this tri-folded phone appears quite slim when it is completely opened, and its body is divided into three parts when viewed from the back, which is added through the hinges.
When the Phantom G fold is completely opened, the left part comes with a large cover display, whose height and width appears to be a traditional smartphone. The middle part has a horizontally alinded triple camera setup and LED flashlight, while the right part appears completely empty. Although the exact capacity of the battery is not yet known, it is being speculated that every part of the device may have different battery units, which together power this foldable smartphone.
In another news, Samsung’s President and Head of Mobile Experience, TM ROH has reported that the company will launch its much-awaited TRAI-folded phone this year. Although its name has not been officially confirmed, according to rumors it can be called Galaxy G Fold and it will probably be a dual-inward foldable phone.
Whenever Tecno decides to bring its tri-folded phone to the market, it can be expected that this device will be available at a much lower price than Samsung and other brands. Given the record of Tecno so far, the company keeps the price of its foldable phones lower than the competitors. For example, Phantom V Fold 2 was launched at an initial price of ₹ 89,990, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was priced at ₹ 1,64,999 at the same time. Something similar can also happen with TECNO’s tri-folded phone.
