[CNMO Technology News]On the evening of June 15, Beijing time, the 93rd Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race came to an end at the Salter Circuit in France. The No. 83 of the Ferrari AF CORSE team, where Chinese driver Ye Yifei is located, won the championship with a total mileage of 387 laps. This historic breakthrough not only marks the first time that a Chinese driver has reached the highest podium in Le Mans, but also achieves the three consecutive championships of Ferrari since returning to the top group in 2023.

In this event, the No. 83 team composed of Ye Yifei and his teammates Robert Kubica and Philip Hansen showed strong strength. Although he only started at the 13th place in the game due to electronic failure in the qualifying round, Ye Yifei made two night appearances in the main competition, achieving 20 and 10 seconds of pursuit respectively. With his amazing cornering speed and accurate return to the field strategy, he led the way twice. In the end, Ferrari team held its advantage firmly, and crew No. 83 beat Porsche and other strong opponents and successfully won the championship. The No. 51 and No. 50 499P racing cars in Ferrari also won third and fourth place in the game, continuing the brand’s dominance in the endurance field.

As a leader in the Chinese racing industry, Ye Yifei has achieved great success in his career. In 2016, he won the annual championship of the F4 Championship at the age of 16, becoming the first Chinese driver to win the Formula Year championship in Europe; in 2021, he won the European Le Mans Series again; in September 2024, he partnered with Kubica and other teammates to win the WEC Lone Star Le Mans 6 Hours Endurance Championship for Ferrari. The Le Mans win this time marks a comprehensive breakthrough in the top international endurance competitions.

After the event, Lei Jun also posted a congratulation through social media as soon as possible: “With history! Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race, a Chinese finally won the championship. The peak moment of Chinese racing! @Rider Ye Yifeiniu!” This congratulation quickly aroused heated discussion among netizens, and related topics were on the hot search list.

Since its establishment in 1923, the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race has been known as the “three major automobile events in the world” together with F1 and WRC. Its 24-hour uninterrupted race system puts the ultimate test of drivers’ physical fitness, team strategy and racing reliability. Ye Yifei’s winning of the championship not only injects new impetus into Chinese motorsports, but also shows the competitive strength of Chinese drivers to the world.
