Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup in India with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The new smartphones focus heavily on premium camera capabilities, powerful hardware, and flagship-level features. The devices are co-engineered with Leica and come equipped with advanced camera systems, high brightness AMOLED displays, and large batteries with extremely fast charging support.

The Xiaomi 17 features a compact flagship design with a 6.3-inch custom M10 AMOLED display capable of reaching up to 3500 nits peak brightness. The phone measures just 8.06mm in thickness and weighs around 191g, making it one of the more comfortable flagship devices to hold. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, delivering improved performance and efficiency for gaming, multitasking, and AI-driven tasks.
In terms of cameras, the Xiaomi 17 comes with a Leica-tuned triple camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor. The device also includes Leica Summilux optical lenses designed to capture more light and deliver better detail and color accuracy. For selfies, the smartphone is equipped with a 50MP front camera with autofocus support.
The phone also packs a large 6330mAh battery and supports 100W wired HyperCharge along with 50W wireless HyperCharge technology. Additional features include IP69 water and dust resistance, making the device more durable in challenging conditions. Xiaomi is also bundling several premium digital services including Spotify Premium, YouTube Premium, and Google AI Pro access for a limited period along with Jio benefits worth ₹16,000.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra targets users who want the absolute best in mobile photography and flagship performance. The device features a larger 6.9-inch HyperRGB AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and improved color accuracy.
The camera system is the main highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It introduces what Xiaomi calls the world’s first Leica 1-inch Ultra Dynamic main sensor with LOFIC technology and the Light Fusion 1050L sensor. The smartphone also features a 200MP ultra-large telephoto sensor and a groundbreaking 75-100mm mechanical optical zoom system with Leica APO certification, designed to deliver professional-level zoom photography.
The camera setup is complemented by Leica UltraPure optical design and advanced imaging algorithms that improve night photography and dynamic range. Xiaomi is marketing the device with the tagline “Rule The Night”, highlighting its low-light imaging capabilities.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and includes Xiaomi’s advanced 3D dual-channel IceLoop cooling system to maintain performance during extended gaming and heavy workloads. The smartphone is backed by a 6000mAh Xiaomi Surge battery with support for 90W HyperCharge fast charging.
Both smartphones come with IP69 certification, ensuring improved protection against water and dust. Xiaomi has also included a range of premium service benefits and ecosystem integrations for buyers.
The Xiaomi 17 starts at ₹89,999 in India, with early bird buyers getting special benefits including a storage upgrade where customers can get the 512GB variant at the price of 256GB. The device is also available through EMI plans starting at ₹9,999 per month. Early bird offers are valid from March 13 to March 17.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced starting at ₹1,29,999 in India, with EMI options beginning at ₹14,444 per month. Buyers can also receive up to ₹10,000 instant discount using SBI credit cards. As part of the early bird offer, Xiaomi is also bundling the Xiaomi Professional Photography Kit Pro worth ₹19,999 for free.
Both smartphones will be available through mi.com, Amazon India, and Xiaomi retail stores across the country.
