Just hours after Realme India revealed that the Realme GT 8 Pro would debut as the country’s first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, iQOO has confirmed its own flagship entry — the iQOO 15. The brand announced via its official X handle that the device will be launching in India with the same cutting-edge chipset, teasing “GOAT performance” in its promotional poster.

While iQOO has not disclosed the exact launch timeline, industry speculation suggests a late November or early December unveiling, in line with past releases. The predecessor, iQOO 13, arrived in India on December 3, 2024, strengthening expectations for a similar schedule this year.

According to teasers, the iQOO 15 will sport a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung Everest Display featuring E6 OLED technology with the world’s first M14 luminescent material. The display promises 6000 nits peak local brightness, 2600 nits full-screen brightness, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 3200Hz instant touch sampling. Other highlights include 8T LTPO support, TÜV-certified flicker-free and gaming eye protection modes, ultra-low motion blur, and Eye Comfort 2.0 with 1-nit ultra-dim mode for bedtime use.

The smartphone will first debut in China before making its way to India. One key aspect Indian consumers are keeping a close eye on is the battery capacity. While the Chinese variant of the iQOO 13 offered a 6150mAh cell, the Indian version was slightly downgraded to 6000mAh. Users will be hoping for equal specifications across markets this time around.

On the software side, Vivo and iQOO have officially announced that OriginOS will expand globally, replacing FuntouchOS. The upcoming iQOO 15 will ship with OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. However, reports indicate the global version may differ from the Chinese build, offering a curated set of features while leaving out others. OriginOS 6 is expected to debut globally alongside the iQOO 15 or the Vivo X300 series later this year.

With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 power, a next-gen 2K AMOLED display, and the global debut of OriginOS 6, the iQOO 15 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated flagships of 2025. Stay tuned for more updates on specifications and the official India launch timeline on PassionateGeekz.
