New Delhi. If you have recently seen reports of Baba Ramdev’s 6G smartphone of Patanjali, then you should read this. Patanjali branded smartphone reports have recently gone viral on the Internet, claiming that the consumer textile company focused on Ayurveda is bringing a cheap but feature-feature smartphone.

The alleged Patanjali smartphone has a 250MP main camera, 13MP and 33MP secondary sensor, 28MP selfie camera and a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED display, with a 144Hz refresh rate. Other specifications include MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor, up to 12GB, 2TB storage and 7000mAh battery, which can be fully charged in just 15 minutes with 200W fast charging. These articles launched speculation of launch in the end of 2024 or early 2025, which was stated to be between ₹ 25,000 to ₹ 33,000. It was claimed that this phone would already come with Patanjali apps.

The reports that came with top-level specifications about Patanjali 6G smartphone are completely baseless. Intensive fact-check shows that these details are completely imaginary. No official announcement has been made about the development or launch of any smartphone, especially the “6G” device from the Patanjali Ayurved or any related unit.

The idea of a “6G smartphone” in the end of the year 2024 or in the beginning of the year 2025 is technically very quick. 6G is still in its early research and development stages globally and it will take many years to get into commercial use. Therefore, it seems completely impossible to bring a ‘6G smartphone’ of Patanjali, a FMCG brand. Major technical brands such as Apple and Samsung have not finalized anything on 6G technology yet.

In addition, Patanjali’s main occupation revolves around Ayurvedic products, foods and consumer goods. Although the company has first entered digital services, it is very impossible to jump into advanced mobile hardware manufacturing with high-level specifications and an unpublished network technology, especially without any prior advertising. Therefore, consumers are requested not to believe in fake news being spread by many websites.
